ABOUT THE JOB
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Design and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and data storage solutions.
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and data integration solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements and provide efficient and reliable data access.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability across data platforms and systems.
- Implement and maintain data security, access controls, and data governance practices.
- Optimize SQL queries, data processing jobs, and data retrieval performance.
- Work with big data technologies to process and manage large-scale datasets efficiently.
- Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new data technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve the data platform.
- Support the implementation of real-time and batch data processing solutions where required.
- Troubleshoot data pipeline, integration, and performance issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to support data-driven business initiatives and decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a related technical role.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Extensive experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and their data services.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable and reliable data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data quality, security, and data governance principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring to other engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with stream processing technologies, such as Kafka, Flink, or Delta Live Tables.
- Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security requirements.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with Tencent Big Data Platform is highly desirable.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Relevant cloud, data engineering, or technology certifications are advantageous.
- Contributions to open-source projects or experience working with large-scale data platforms is a plus.
