Job description
We are looking for a Network Security Engineer with strong hands-on experience in firewall administration to join our IT Security team. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our infrastructure security level through the management of firewalls, related components, and regular architecture reviews.
You will work within established workflows, change management processes and controls to ensure full auditability and traceability of all activities.
Main responsibilities
- Administer firewalls: implement policies, perform daily housekeeping, conduct regular rules review and clean-up, and provide support during incidents.
- Use firewall tools such as Firewall Analyzer (AlgoSec or FireMon): optimize tool usage, configure regular reports for daily clean-up and rules usage.
- Manage your workload efficiently and escalate when needed to keep it at a reasonable level.
- Propose architecture or tooling improvements based on issues and events identified in daily operations.
- Participate in first-level on-call duty.
- Support IT production teams on security best practices.
- Assess infrastructure and applications to ensure that the security model and principles are applied at application level, network level, and between inter and intra DMZs.
- Contribute to internal IT projects within the team.
- Stay up to date with new trends and technologies in the Security area.
Professional skills, abilities and experience
Essential
The ideal candidate has a strong security background, including:
- Strong skills and working knowledge of Checkpoint suite (manager and firewall).
- Strong skills and working knowledge of Fortinet suite (manager and firewall).
- Strong skills and working knowledge of Palo Alto suite (manager and firewall).
- Skills and working knowledge of Firewall Analyzer tools (AlgoSec or FireMon).
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN and network security principles, including compliance with network rules.
- Solid technical background in IT security, with awareness that security equipment configuration directly impacts the security of the bank.
- Experience with security best practices, network threats and vulnerabilities.
- Certifications in security technologies are highly appreciated.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Unix systems (e.g. Red Hat) and Windows.
- Knowledge of WAF (Web Application Firewall).
- Knowledge of IDS/IPS.
- Scripting skills.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in large networks and backbone environments.
- Checkpoint, Palo Alto or Fortinet certifications will be valued.
- ITIL Foundation certification will be valued.
